One day after the screening of Longing for the Sun! at Fabrika on the evening of Thursday, 17 September, Bulutsuzluk Özlemi will give a concert at Pür Cunda as part of the festival.

As in previous years, alongside its film screenings, the festival will host a series of talks and discussions bringing together figures from different disciplines to discuss cinema, art, urban culture, and contemporary issues, as well as a special concert.

With the support of Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi, a coffee expert with 155 years of history, the Ayvalık International Film Festival continues its mission of supporting emerging filmmakers and is launching the “Filmmakers of the Future Award.”

The “Short Films” section will take place this year under the sponsorship of Akbank Sanat and will bring together short films from Turkey and various regions of the world, focusing on current examples of short film production.

41 students from 26 different universities will have the opportunity to experience how a festival is produced, watch films, participate in workshops, and bring their own projects to life.

With our project A Cinema in Ayvalık, we were awarded a grant through Ortaklaşa: Culture, Dialogue and Support Programme, run by İKSV with the support of the European Union. Carried out in partnership with Ayvalık Municipality, the project aims to renovate Vural Cinema and reopen it in February. We are very excited to restore Vural Cinema to its original function as a movie theatre, with its reopening set to take place during the Winter Festival and film screenings continuing throughout the year.
