Classification: According to Article 7 of Law No. 5224, as amended on January 18, 2019, films that have not undergone evaluation and classification can only be shown at festivals, special screenings, and similar cultural and artistic events with an 18+ age restriction.

The biography of writer and director Marcel Pagnol, one of the legendary pillars of French theater and cinema, comes to the screen in this animated film with a non-linear narrative. Anchored by the memoirs Pagnol penned for Elle magazine in 1955, the film freely wanders through the author’s memory, revisiting his greatest triumphs and disappointments. Grappling with a creative block, Pagnol recalls his own life story accompanied by the ghosts of his past - most notably, his own childhood self.

Animation master Sylvain Chomet, with his distinctive hand-drawn style, brings to life key moments in French cinema. At times, scenes from Pagnol’s classic films intertwine with Chomet’s animated sequences.
