The Yusufeli Dam project has torn off local people from Çoruh, the river that had shaped their lives, forcing them to leave behind homes where they lived for generations, the lands they cultivated, and the animals they loved and cared for. They struggle to adapt and survive in the new town built for the locals; a world ‘made of concrete and driven by consumption’. On the Dry Rock records their quest to preserve their dignity, identity, and sense of belonging, as it bears witness to ‘the death of water, land, and memory.’
