The Bezaris return to the village they were forced to abandon years ago, determined to reclaim their land from the Hazeran clan. However, the passage of time has altered not only the village’s boundaries but also the competing claims to the property. Both sides believe they are in the right, and the conflict gradually develops into a complex power struggle that extends far beyond a mere land dispute.

As in Beyond the Hill, director Emin Alper explores the paranoia and delusions born from the fears of an isolated community. This time, the film makes the provocative choice to place the perpetrators’ perspective at the very center of the narrative. Inspired by real events, Salvation blurs the boundaries between dream and reality as a historical conflict is reenacted in the present day. Ultimately, the film’s title takes on a deeply ironic meaning: what is believed to offer a community salvation may instead drag it toward a new catastrophe.
