General Audience

Directed by Evrim Çervatoğlu, Goat 501 follows in the footsteps of a shepherd, Cengiz Taşçı, who lives in the highlands of the eastern parts of the Black Sea region. Cengiz’s life is intimately intertwined with his goats, the mountains, and the land. The camera records his daily life with the gaze of a quiet witness, pulling us into the repetitions of nature’s cyclical rhythm. Çervatoğlu’s approach is poetic, enveloping the figure of a man who has become one with nature, no longer just shepherding, but moving along as an inherent part of the herd.
