LifeLike is a story about family and impending death. A mother, a father, and their son struggle together in a unit in a housing estate, a Toki development. They are facing death while putting up with each other, desperately relying on healing remedies, caught up in a spiral of deep grief. The mother and father try the customs of their generation as they search for a way out from their helpless situation. The young son, meanwhile, clings to something that at least resembles an escape route, an idea of the next world, offered by the virtual world, far more convincing and comforting than the one we live in.
