FANTASTIC FLOWERS

TALK FOLLOWED BY A SILENT FILM
SCREENING WITH LIVE MUSIC

Elif Rongen, Kornelia Binicewicz

FABRİKA

15 September, Tuesday, 18.00, Fabrika

As part of our collaboration with the Eye Film Museum in the Netherlands this year, we will screen Fantastic Flowers, a compilation of short silent films produced between 1906 and 1920. Before the screening of this restoration project, which brings together films colored by using stencil-printing techniques, curator Elif Rongen will give a talk titled Let the Colors of Fantastic Flowers Not Fade. By presenting a number of examples, she will explain how historical film-coloring techniques have been adapted for today’s digital cinema.

Music curator and DJ Kornelia Binicewicz will accompany the screening with a live musical performance.
